Summary: Blackout Camera has no accounts and no first-party analytics, and your captures stay on your own device — in your photo library and in the app's private on-device Library. Paid subscribers use an ad-free app and we collect nothing. The free tier is supported by advertising (Google AdMob), which may use a device identifier to serve ads — only with the consent iOS and the app ask you for, and you can always say no.
Blackout Camera itself does not ask for, collect, transmit, or store any personally identifiable information. There is no account system, no login, no user profile, and no first-party analytics. The only data processing beyond your own device is done by the advertising provider on the free tier, described in section 6.
The app uses your device's camera to show a live preview and to take photos and record video, and uses the microphone to record sound with your videos. The camera and microphone feeds are processed entirely on your device for the sole purpose of capturing the media you choose to capture. No image, video, or audio is ever sent to MW Supply Limited or any third party.
When you take a photo or record a video, the app saves it to your device's photo library using iOS's “Add Only” Photos authorization. This permission lets the app add your new captures to your library but does not allow it to read, browse, or access any of your existing photos and videos. Captured media is stored in your own photo library, under your control. If you have iCloud Photos enabled, your library is backed up by Apple under your Apple ID according to Apple's own privacy practices — the app plays no part in that.
The app also keeps its own copy of each capture in its private on-device storage to power the in-app Library. These copies stay on your device, are not readable by other apps, and are never transmitted to MW Supply Limited or anyone else. You can remove them in the app at any time (which does not affect your photo library), and they are deleted automatically if you delete the app. Because the app manages only its own copies, removing an item in the in-app Library never touches your Apple Photos library.
If you enable “Save location in photos & videos”, the app uses your device's location solely to embed GPS coordinates into the photos and videos you capture — exactly like the built-in Camera. The location data lives inside your own media files in your own photo library; it is never sent to MW Supply Limited. You can turn this off at any time in the app's Settings or in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services.
Your preferences (such as auto-blackout, night-vision mode, grid, and video quality) are stored locally on your device and are not transmitted anywhere. Your free-tier token balance is also stored on your device and, if you are signed in to iCloud, is synced across your own Apple devices through Apple's iCloud (CloudKit) using your private iCloud storage. This lets the tokens you earn or buy follow you between your iPhone and iPad. That data lives in your own iCloud account under your Apple ID and is governed by Apple's privacy policy; MW Supply Limited cannot access it. You can turn iCloud off for the app in iOS Settings.
The free tier of Blackout Camera shows advertising provided by Google AdMob: optional rewarded videos you can choose to watch to earn tokens, and a small banner on the settings and token screens. Ads never appear in the camera view. If you subscribe to Blackout Pro, the app shows no ads at all and the AdMob SDK is not started.
Subscriptions (Blackout Pro) and consumable token packs are processed entirely by Apple through your Apple Account. We never see your payment details. Purchase receipts are validated on-device using Apple's StoreKit. Subscriptions can be managed or cancelled any time in your Apple Account settings; tokens are consumable and non-refundable once spent.
Blackout Camera is not directed at children. The free tier uses Google AdMob with age-appropriate ad settings where required, and the app collects no personal data itself, consistent with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and similar regulations worldwide.
If we change how Blackout Camera handles data, we will update this page and the “Last updated” date above. Material changes will also be reflected in the App Store privacy labels for the affected version of the app.
