Drive road trips together — a live convoy for a group in separate cars. Version 1.0
Convoy keeps a group of friends driving in separate cars together on a road trip. Everyone sees everyone on one live map — each car’s position, heading and live speed — so nobody gets left behind. The group leader sets the route and every car gets turn-by-turn to follow it; you can chat, start a one-tap group audio call, drop shared hazard and police alerts, and race friendly checkpoints that feed a leaderboard. It’s built to make a real road trip feel like driving in a convoy in a racing game.
Convoy is free with ads. The optional Convoy Pro subscription removes all ads and unlocks larger convoys, automatic checkpoint generation, full leaderboard history, custom car skins, and a saved-route library.
Convoy is designed to keep your eyes on the road. Send quick preset messages (“Pit stop”, “Slow down”, “Pulling over”) with one tap, or start a group audio call for the convoy using Apple’s Group FaceTime Audio. Tap a hazard button to drop a shared Police / Accident / Hazard / Slow / Camera alert that appears on everyone’s map with a spoken heads-up as they approach.
Convoy Pro is an auto-renewable subscription — $4.99 / month or $29.99 / year (prices may vary by region; the yearly plan includes a 7-day free trial). It removes all ads and unlocks larger convoys, automatic checkpoint generation, full leaderboard history, custom car skins, and your saved-route library. Subscribe from the Membership page in the app. Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation; the subscription renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the period ends. Manage or cancel anytime in iOS Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions, or restore a previous purchase from the Membership page.
Only the members of a convoy you are currently in, and only while you are in it. Your live position, heading and speed are shared with your convoy through our backend so they appear on the shared map. When you leave the convoy (or it ends), that live data stops and is cleared. Convoy is not a background “always tracking” app — nothing is shared when you’re not in an active convoy. See the Privacy Policy for exactly what is shared and how.
No. The group call uses Apple’s Group FaceTime Audio, which is free over your internet connection. Everyone in the call needs an Apple device.
No. Convoy’s alerts are reported by the members of your own convoy and shared only within it. You can optionally open the Waze app to report to Waze’s wider community, but Convoy does not read from or write to Waze.
While a convoy is active, Convoy uses GPS continuously to keep your position live for the group, which is energy-intensive — keep your phone on a car charger for long drives. When you’re not in a convoy, Convoy does nothing in the background.
On the free plan Convoy shows a small banner ad through Google AdMob that never covers the map controls. On first launch iOS asks whether Convoy may track you: choosing Allow permits personalized ads, while Ask App Not to Track still shows ads but non-personalized ones. Subscribe to Convoy Pro to remove ads entirely. See the Privacy Policy for details.
Your own trip history, saved routes, car profile and settings are stored in your personal iCloud account (if you’re signed in to iCloud), so they follow you across your devices. The live convoy data itself is temporary and is not part of that backup.
