Dishroll Privacy Policy

Effective 10 August 2026 · Last updated 10 August 2026

Summary: Dishroll has no account and no login, and MW Supply Limited operates no servers that receive your personal data. Your precise location is used on your device only, to ask Apple’s own map services what is nearby; it is never sent to us and never shared with advertisers. Your saved places, history and ratings stay on your device and, if you are signed in to iCloud, in your private iCloud container, which we cannot read. The free version shows a banner ad supplied through Unity LevelPlay (ironSource) mediation, and that SDK collects limited device and usage data to serve it (and, only with your permission, to personalise it). Subscribing to Dishroll Pro or buying Remove Ads removes the ads and that collection with them. Group Pick runs peer-to-peer over your local network — nothing goes to a server.

1. Who we are

Dishroll is published by MW Supply Limited ("we", "us"). Dishroll has no account system, no login, and no user profile. We do not operate servers that receive your personal data; the data collection described below is performed by our advertising partner’s SDK on our behalf when you use the free, ad-supported version, and by Apple when you use Apple’s own map and purchase services.

2. What Dishroll stores on your device

Everything the app remembers about you is created by you, inside the app, and is stored locally on your device:

None of this is transmitted to MW Supply Limited. Deleting the app removes the local copy from that device.

3. iCloud sync

If you are a Dishroll Pro subscriber and signed in to iCloud, the data listed in Section 2 is synced through Dishroll’s private container in your iCloud account, under your Apple ID, so it is available on your other devices. MW Supply Limited has no access to, and never receives a copy of, the contents of your iCloud storage; iCloud follows Apple’s own privacy practices. If you are not signed in to iCloud, or are not a Pro subscriber, everything stays in local on-device storage.

4. Location

Location access is optional and the app is fully usable without it. If you grant it, your precise location is used on your device only: it is passed to Apple’s MKLocalSearch and MKDirections services to find places to eat near you and to route you to them, and it is used to compute the distances you see. Your location is never sent to MW Supply Limited, never stored on any server of ours, and never shared with advertisers. If you decline location access, you can search from any address, neighbourhood or city by name instead and every feature still works. You can review or change this permission at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → Dishroll.

Note that the coarse, IP-derived location used by the advertising SDK (Section 6) is a separate matter, is not your precise GPS location, and does not come from this permission.

5. Places, maps and directions (Apple)

Places, distances, the map and directions come from Apple Maps via Apple’s MapKit framework. Candidates are drawn only from Apple’s food-related point-of-interest categories. When the app searches or requests directions, the query and the search region are handled by Apple under Apple’s Privacy Policy; MW Supply Limited does not receive or log those requests. Apple does not publish ratings, price levels or photos through MapKit, and Dishroll does not invent them — the only star rating in the app is the one you give a place yourself.

6. Advertising (free version)

The free version of Dishroll displays a single banner ad through Unity LevelPlay (ironSource) mediation, with Unity Ads as the demand source. To request and show ads, and to measure and prevent fraud, the LevelPlay SDK and the ad networks it mediates may collect and process:

How this data is used depends on your tracking choice (see Section 7). Unity and the networks it mediates act as independent parties for ad delivery; their handling of data is governed by their own policies. You can learn more in Unity’s Player and App User Privacy Policy and the Unity Privacy Policy.

7. App Tracking Transparency & personalised ads

On first use of the ad-supported version, iOS will ask whether Dishroll may track you across apps and websites (Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt).

You can change this at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking; that system setting is the single place your choice is recorded, and the app reads it rather than keeping a separate consent screen of its own. Your answer is also what we pass to our advertising partner as your privacy signal: allowing tracking permits personalised ads, while declining, taking no action, or having tracking restricted is passed on as a refusal of consent (GDPR consent false) and as a “do not sell or share” signal under the CCPA, so that only non-personalised ads are requested.

8. Removing ads

Ads can be removed permanently in either of two ways: subscribing to Dishroll Pro, or making the one-time Remove Ads purchase. In both cases the ad SDK does not request ads and the ad-related data collection described in Section 6 does not occur. Purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple through your Apple Account; we do not receive your payment-card details. Subscriptions are managed and cancelled in Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions on your device.

9. Opening hours (OpenStreetMap)

Where opening hours are shown, they come from OpenStreetMap (© OpenStreetMap contributors), used under the Open Database License. Retrieving hours involves requesting data about a place; it does not send your identity, your account (you have none) or your precise position history, and where OpenStreetMap holds no hours for a venue the app displays “hours unknown” rather than a guess.

10. Group Pick and the local network

Group Pick uses Apple’s MultipeerConnectivity framework to connect the devices in the room directly to one another over your local network or a direct peer-to-peer link. The display name you choose for the session, the restrictions you add, and your vetoes are exchanged only with the other participants’ devices in that session, for the duration of that session. Nothing is sent to a server — not ours and not anyone else’s — there is no account, and we receive no record that a Group Pick took place. iOS will ask for Local Network permission the first time you use it, and you can revoke that at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Local Network.

11. Third-party services

The free version uses Unity LevelPlay (the ironSource mediation SDK) together with the Unity Ads adapter, as described above. Apart from that, and Apple’s own first-party services (MapKit for places, maps and directions; StoreKit / the App Store for purchases; iCloud for sync; MultipeerConnectivity for Group Pick; and crash reporting you opt into via Share With App Developers), plus the OpenStreetMap data described in Section 9, Dishroll contains no analytics SDKs and no other third-party SDKs. We do not sell your personal data.

12. Children

Dishroll is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly enable the collection of personal data from children. Because the free version serves ads, families who prefer an ad-free experience can buy Remove Ads or subscribe to Pro.

13. Your choices & rights

You can: decline or revoke location access at any time and use the app by searching for places by name (Section 4); decline or revoke app tracking, and reset your advertising identifier, in iOS Settings (Section 7); remove ads and the ad-related data collection by subscribing to Pro or buying Remove Ads (Section 8); revoke Local Network access to disable Group Pick (Section 10); clear your history, favourites and ratings from within the app, and delete everything by deleting the app and, if you use iCloud sync, removing Dishroll’s iCloud data from your Apple Account. Because we hold no copy of your data, there is nothing for us to retrieve or erase on your behalf. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data held about you; for the limited data Unity and its mediated networks process for ads, please refer to Unity’s privacy controls, and you may also contact us at the address below.

14. Accuracy of place information

Dishroll presents information about restaurants that originates with Apple Maps and OpenStreetMap. It may be incomplete or out of date, and a venue may have changed its hours, moved or closed. Corrections to place data should be reported to Apple (in Apple Maps, via Report an Issue) or to OpenStreetMap, as we cannot edit either source on your behalf.

15. Changes to this policy

If we change how Dishroll handles data, we will update this page and the “Last updated” date above. Material changes will also be reflected in the App Store privacy nutrition labels for the affected version of the app.
