Summary: FollowLens works entirely on the data you import — the official “Followers and following” file from Instagram's own “Download your information” export. There is no login, no password, and no scraping. The usernames from your export stay on your device. We run no server and never receive this data. The free tier shows a small banner ad through Google AdMob, which may use a device identifier to serve ads — only with the consent iOS and the app ask you for, and you can always say no.
FollowLens itself does not ask for, collect, transmit, or store any personally identifiable information. There is no account system, no login, no user profile, and no first-party analytics. MW Supply Limited operates no server or backend — the app has nowhere to send your data, and we never receive it. The only data processing beyond your own device is done by the advertising provider on the free tier, described in section 6.
FollowLens does not connect to Instagram, log in to your account, ask for your Instagram password, or scrape any website. Instead, you request your own data from Instagram using its official “Download your information” tool and hand the resulting “Followers and following” file to FollowLens. The app reads that file entirely on your device and compares successive imports to show you what changed — new followers, unfollowers, accounts that don't follow you back, accounts you don't follow back, mutuals, and follower-count trends over time.
The usernames and lists contained in the file you import are processed and stored on your device so the app can build your snapshots and insight lists. This data is never transmitted to MW Supply Limited or any third party — because we have no server, there is nowhere for it to go.
Your preferences and your import history (the snapshots the app diffs to detect changes) are stored locally on your device. This stays on your device only. None of this is sent to us.
FollowLens Pro lets you export your lists to CSV. Those files are created on your device and shared only where you choose to send them using the iOS share sheet. FollowLens does not upload exported files anywhere.
The free tier of FollowLens shows a small anchored-adaptive banner provided by Google AdMob. If you subscribe to FollowLens Pro, the app shows no ads at all and the AdMob SDK is not started.
The FollowLens Pro subscription (Monthly and Annual, the latter with a 3-day free trial) is processed entirely by Apple through your Apple Account. We never see your payment details. Purchase status is validated on-device using Apple's StoreKit; the app only learns whether your device currently has an active Pro entitlement. Subscriptions can be managed or cancelled any time in your Apple Account settings.
You are always in control of your data. You can delete individual snapshots or all imported data from within the app at any time. Deleting the app from your device removes all of its on-device data. Because we hold none of your data on any server, there is nothing for us to delete on our side.
FollowLens is not directed at children under 13. The free tier uses Google AdMob with age-appropriate ad settings where required, and the app collects no personal data itself, consistent with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and similar regulations worldwide.
FollowLens is an independent app developed by MW Supply Limited. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Instagram or Meta Platforms, Inc. “Instagram” is a trademark of its respective owner and is used here only to describe the export file the app reads.
If we change how FollowLens handles data, we will update this page and the “Last updated” date above. Material changes will also be reflected in the App Store privacy labels for the affected version of the app.
