Privacy Policy

Wakeward for iPhone and iPad. Last updated 18 August 2026

What stays on your device

• Your alarms — times, days, labels, tones, and their settings.
• Your wake log — when each alarm was scheduled, when it rang, when you stopped it, how many times you snoozed, and the iOS version at the time.
• Your preferences, including the answers you give on the bedtime check.

This data is written to your device's app container and to a shared container used by the Wakeward widget. It is not transmitted to MW Supply Limited, and there is nowhere for us to transmit it to — Wakeward operates no server.

iCloud

If you are signed in to iCloud, your alarm list is mirrored to your own private iCloud storage so it survives a new phone and appears on your other devices. That storage belongs to your Apple Account. We cannot read it, and Apple's own privacy policy governs it. Turning off iCloud for Wakeward in iOS Settings stops this; your alarms then stay on the one device.

Advertising in the free version

The free version shows a small banner on the alarm list, the settings screen and the wake log, and offers optional videos you can choose to watch to unlock a feature for a day. These are served by Unity LevelPlay (ironSource), part of Unity Technologies.

• Ads never appear while an alarm is ringing, during a wake-up task, on the good-morning screen, or in a widget, Live Activity or notification.
• Personalised advertising is off by default. Turning on the switch in Settings › Ads is the only thing Wakeward will ever report as your consent. If you never touch it, we report that no consent is on record.
• If you allow tracking when iOS asks, the advertising provider may use your device's advertising identifier to select ads. If you decline, it does not receive it. You can change this at any time in iOS Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking.
• Buying Wakeward Pro removes advertising completely. For a Pro subscriber the advertising SDK is never even started.

Unity's handling of the data it receives is covered by its own privacy policy at unity.com/legal/game-player-and-app-user-privacy-policy.

Purchases

Subscriptions and the Lifetime purchase are handled entirely by Apple. Wakeward receives only whether an entitlement is currently active. We never see your name, your payment details or your Apple Account.

Motion & Fitness

If you choose the “Walk it off” wake-up task, Wakeward asks for Motion & Fitness access and counts your steps only while that task is on screen. The count is not stored, not logged and not sent anywhere — it is compared against a target and then discarded. Declining simply means that one task is unavailable.

Notifications

Wakeward schedules local notifications on your device as a backup layer alongside each alarm. They are created and delivered entirely on-device. There is no push server involved and no remote notifications.

What Wakeward does not do

• No analytics or crash-reporting SDK of any kind.
• No microphone access. No sleep recording.
• No accelerometer-based sleep tracking or sleep staging.
• No location access.
• No contacts, photos, calendar or health data.
• No account, so nothing to delete, and no data of yours held by us to delete.

Children

Wakeward is a general-audience utility and is not directed to children under 13. It is declared as such to the advertising provider, and no child-directed advertising is requested.

Your choices

• Personalised ads: the switch in Settings › Ads inside the app.
• Tracking: iOS Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking.
• iCloud sync: iOS Settings › [your name] › iCloud.
• Delete everything: delete the app. That removes the on-device data; alarms mirrored to iCloud can be removed with iOS's own iCloud storage controls.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that affects what is collected, the date at the top of this page changes with it and the app's App Store privacy details are updated to match.
