Supervised, not unrestricted. Speeds are clamped to each fan's own hardware range — but that range reaches lower than the speed macOS may have chosen under load, so a low setting can cool your Mac less than leaving it automatic. What keeps it safe is the supervision: the helper re-reads temperature every second and forces every fan to maximum above the ceiling, hands control back if Corynx stops checking in, and reverts if no temperature sensor answers. Everything returns to automatic the moment you turn it off, quit Corynx, or restart your Mac.

Install

Download the installer above (CorynxFanHelper.pkg).
Double-click it and follow the prompts — it's Apple-notarized, so it opens without any warning.
Enter your Mac password once when asked — the installer sets up the background helper and starts it for you (no Terminal).
Open Corynx → Fans. Switch on Manual boost and set each fan's speed — Corynx detects the helper automatically within a couple of seconds.

Restore automatic control

Any one of these hands your fans straight back to macOS:

In Corynx, turn Manual boost off (or click Return to Automatic).
Quit Corynx — the helper reverts to automatic on its own within a few seconds.
Restart your Mac — the helper starts each boot in automatic and applies nothing until you ask.
To remove the helper entirely, download the .zip and run its uninstall.command.

Why a separate helper?

Controlling fans means writing to the System Management Controller (SMC), which macOS does not allow a sandboxed Mac App Store app to do. The Fan Helper is a small, notarized background service that performs those writes locally and takes commands only from Corynx on your Mac.

Private & safe by design

Runs entirely on your Mac with no network connections.
Temperature-supervised: fans are forced to maximum above the safety ceiling, and handed back to macOS if supervision is ever lost.
A built-in safety override forces fans to maximum if any sensor approaches a thermal limit.
