Summary: Overhand connects your own devices to each other. The remote screen and your mouse/keyboard control are end-to-end encrypted and are never stored on, or readable by, our servers. No account is required; an optional account uses only your email to list your own Macs. We never collect your screen contents, keystrokes, or files. The free tier shows ads on iOS (Google AdMob) and asks for App Tracking Transparency permission first.
Overhand is a remote-desktop tool. Its core job — showing one of your devices the screen of another and relaying your mouse and keyboard input — happens in an end-to-end encrypted session directly between your devices. MW Supply Limited does not receive, store, or have the ability to decrypt your screen contents, keystrokes, clipboard, or transferred files. No account is required to use Overhand; devices can be paired directly with a Host ID and password.
Optional account. You may create an Overhand account with your email address and a password so the app can list the Macs you own and let you tap one to connect. If you do, we store your email and a securely hashed (never plaintext) password, together with the names and online status of the devices you register, on our Cloudflare-hosted backend. This is used only to show you your own device list. You can sign out, or permanently delete your account and every registered device, at any time from the app (Account → Delete Account).
To help two of your devices find each other across the internet, Overhand uses a signaling service and, when a direct connection isn't possible, a relay (TURN) service, operated for us by Cloudflare. These services process the minimum needed to set up and carry the connection: the Host ID being connected to, network address (IP) information, and timing/volume of traffic. The relay forwards only encrypted session data that it cannot read. This metadata is used solely to operate the connection and is not used to build a profile of you or sold to anyone.
On the Mac you connect to, Overhand requires macOS Screen Recording permission (to capture the screen you asked to share) and Accessibility permission (to move the mouse and type on your behalf when you control it remotely). These capabilities are used only while you are connected, only to provide the remote session, and the captured screen and injected input are never sent to MW Supply Limited. You grant these in macOS System Settings and can revoke them at any time.
The input you use to control the remote Mac — mouse movement, clicks, scrolling, and keystrokes — travels inside the same end-to-end encrypted session, directly between your devices. It is not copied to, or readable by, our servers.
Overhand Pro is an auto-renewable subscription sold through Apple's In-App Purchase using StoreKit. Your purchase, payment, and renewals are handled entirely by Apple under your Apple Account; MW Supply Limited never sees your name, your Apple ID, or your card or payment details. Subscriptions can be managed or cancelled any time in your Apple Account settings.
The free tier of the Overhand iOS app shows advertising provided by Google AdMob on the connection/dashboard screens — never over a live remote session. If you subscribe to Overhand Pro, the app shows no ads at all and the AdMob SDK is not started. (The Mac apps show no ads.)
Overhand is not directed to children under 13 and is rated 4+. The free tier uses Google AdMob with age-appropriate ad settings where required, and the app collects no personal data itself, consistent with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and similar regulations worldwide.
If we change how Overhand handles data, we will update this page and the “Last updated” date above. Material changes will also be reflected in the App Store privacy labels for the affected version of the app.
