Kinbell

A gentle bell for the people you love. Set an alarm or reminder for yourself — or for a family member — and it rings on their phone at the right time. See when it was done. Version 1.0

What it does

Kinbell turns a time into a reminder you can share. Set a medication time for a parent, a wake-up alarm for a group trip, or any everyday nudge, and choose how it alerts: a loud alarm or a gentle notification. When you set it for someone in your family group, it rings on their phone — and if you ask them to confirm, you'll see a ✓ when they've taken it or woken up.

How to use it

Family Sharing Pro

This is what makes Kinbell special. With Family Sharing you can set a reminder for someone else — a parent who needs to take medication on time, friends who need to catch an early ferry — and it fires on their phone. They can do the same for you.

Loud alarms that break through Silent & Focus

On iOS 26 and later, alarm-style reminders use Apple's AlarmKit, so they ring even when your phone is on Silent or in a Focus mode — just like the built-in Clock app — with a full-screen Stop / Snooze alert. On earlier iOS versions, reminders alert you with a time-sensitive notification and your chosen sound.

Kinbell Pro

Kinbell is free to use for your own reminders, with ads. Kinbell Pro unlocks the full experience and starts with a 7-day free trial.

Permissions

Notifications

Allow notifications so reminders can alert you and show on your lock screen.

Alarms (iOS 26+)

Allow alarms so Kinbell can ring loudly through Silent mode and Focus when an alarm-style reminder fires. You can change this any time in Settings.

Will the alarm sound if my phone is on silent?

On iOS 26 and later, yes — alarm-style reminders ring through Silent mode and Focus, like a clock alarm. For the loudest, most reliable alert, choose Alarm style, allow alarms, and keep your volume up. (On older iOS, Silent mode can quiet a notification — use a recent iPhone for guaranteed loud alarms.)

Your reminders, Activity & iCloud

Your own reminders, your Activity history, and your preferences are stored on your device and, when you're signed in to iCloud, kept in sync across your devices through your own private iCloud — so the same reminders appear on your iPhone and iPad, and restore on a new device. We never see this data; it lives only in your Apple Account.

FAQ

A reminder didn't ring.

Check that notifications are allowed and, on iOS 26+, that alarms are allowed (Settings → Kinbell). For a shared reminder, make sure you've approved the person who sent it. Force-quitting the app can stop background syncing — leave it open in the background.

Can I snooze?

Yes. When an alarm rings, tap Snooze to be reminded again after a few minutes (set the length in Settings).

How do I know my mum took her medication?

Set the reminder for her and leave Ask them to confirm on. When she taps Taken, you'll see it in your Recent activity with the time.

Does it work on iPad?

Yes — Kinbell works on iPhone and iPad.
