About

Lumacut is a multi-clip video editor for iOS. Import your footage, trim and reorder clips, change speed, grade color, hide anything with pixelation, automatically blur a moving face or object, and export at quality up to lossless ProRes — all on device. It's built for creators who want desktop-grade control without leaving their phone.

Getting started

Create a project from the home screen and give it a name.
Import a video with the + button — add as many clips as you like and drag them into order.
Pick a tool from the bottom bar: Trim, Speed, Color, Pixelate, or Track.
Tap Export, choose a quality preset, then Save to Photos or Share.

The tools

Trim

Set the start and end of each clip with frame-accurate sliders. Trimming is non-destructive — your original video is never modified.

Speed

Slow a clip down to 0.25× or speed it up to 4×. Turn on Preserve audio pitch to keep voices sounding natural at any speed, or turn it off for the classic chipmunk / deep slow-motion effect.

Color

Apply a one-tap black & white look, or fine-tune saturation, brightness, and contrast.

Pixelate

Add one or more boxes over faces, license plates, screens, or anything else you want to hide. Choose a rectangle or ellipse, and adjust the pixelation intensity and edge feathering.

Track (Pro)

Lumacut can follow a subject for you. Blur Faces finds every face in the clip automatically. Track Object lets you draw a box around one thing — a face, a sign, a moving car — and Lumacut keeps the blur locked on it as it moves through the shot. All tracking runs on your device using Apple's Vision framework.

Export quality

Standard (H.264, 1080p) and Compact (H.264, 720p) — free, great for sharing.
High (HEVC, up to 4K) — Pro. Excellent quality at a smaller size than ProRes.
Lossless (ProRes 422 HQ) — Pro. Editing-grade quality at the original resolution.
Audio only (M4A) — Pro. Export just the soundtrack.

Managing your subscription

Subscriptions renew automatically and can be managed or cancelled at any time:

Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → Lumacut

Cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period to avoid the next charge. To restore a previous purchase, tap Restore Purchases in the paywall.

FAQ

Does Lumacut upload my videos anywhere?

No. All editing, tracking, and exporting happen entirely on your device. The only optional cloud feature is iCloud project sync, which uses your own private iCloud — your footage never touches our servers.

Why does object tracking take a moment?

Tracking analyzes the clip frame by frame to follow your subject. Longer or higher-resolution clips take a little longer. The analysis runs on-device, so it works offline and your video stays private.

Does it work with portrait video?

Yes. Orientation and aspect ratio are preserved for all orientations, including iPhone portrait footage stored with a rotation transform.

What happens to my projects if I cancel Pro?

Your projects and any videos you already exported to your Photo Library are unaffected. Pro-only export presets and tracking simply become locked again until you resubscribe.
