Summary: Qedra does not upload your mathematics for solving or advertising. Qedra’s mathematics solver is built into the app, so there is no server to send a problem to — it works with the phone in aeroplane mode. There are no Qedra accounts and no login. The free tier includes advertising supplied by Unity LevelPlay (ironSource), with advertising measurement and diagnostic services described below. Qedra Pro removes advertising. App Store purchases also communicate with Apple. Nothing you type is part of an advert request. You can choose to share an answer, and local data may be included in device backups.
Qedra is published by MW Supply Limited (“we”, “us”). We do not operate any servers of our own and we do not run any account system. There is no Qedra login or server that receives your mathematical problems or history.
This is the part most people want to know, so it comes first. Qedra parses your input and solves supported mathematics entirely on your device, including its available verification and worked explanations. The whole computer algebra system — the exact arithmetic, the simplifier, the calculus and linear algebra engines, the step recorder — is compiled into the app. Nothing about your problem is transmitted anywhere for solving, not to us and not to anyone else. You can confirm this yourself: turn on Airplane Mode and Qedra still solves. If you use Share or Copy, you choose where the exported answer goes; the receiving app or service handles that copy.
We do not collect your mathematical content through the app. We operate no server or server-side database that receives your mathematical content, and we do not operate a network analytics service for app usage. Version 1.2 keeps aggregate usage counts on the device, as described below. Your history uses a local database on your device. We do not receive the problems you solve or your history through Qedra. Advertising providers may make advertising performance reports available to us; this does not include your mathematical content. We do not ask for your name, email address, contacts, photos, microphone, or location.
Qedra keeps a history of the problems you have solved. History is stored locally on the device. Qedra does not sync it between devices. Local app data may be included in device backups managed by Apple or by you; Qedra does not operate a backup service. Deleting an entry removes it from the app, and deleting the app removes its local data. Existing device backups are managed separately. If syncing between your own devices is added later, this page and the App Store privacy labels will be updated before that version ships.
These features are available in Qedra version 1.2 and later.
Course notebooks store saved problems, notation settings, labels, notes and review markers locally on your device. They do not sync through a Qedra account. You can delete notebooks and saved problems in the Study screen. This data may be included in your device backups.
Qedra also keeps aggregate counts of app actions, such as solves, practice sessions, upgrade screens and PDF exports, along with a limited set of daily totals and the elapsed time from first opening to the first successful solve. These counts contain no mathematical problem text, notebook notes, images or advertising identifier. They are not automatically sent to us. Settings offers a system share sheet if you choose to share the report. We receive it only if you send it to us through a channel you select.
Exported solution PDFs and shared text contain the mathematical content you select. Sharing transfers that content to the app or recipient you choose.
The free tier shows one banner advert at the bottom of the Solve screen. It is supplied by Unity LevelPlay (ironSource), whose software development kit is included in the app. Qedra Pro removes advertising entirely, and Qedra does not initialize the advertising software while a Pro entitlement is active. If you purchase Pro during a free-tier session, ad serving stops; an SDK initialized earlier in that session may remain in memory.
Qedra requests permission through Apple’s App Tracking Transparency system when iOS permits a prompt. This request can appear at launch and is separate from whether an advert is eligible to load. Declining or restricting tracking leaves the mathematics features usable and prevents access to the advertising identifier through ATT. If you allow tracking, our advertising provider may use that identifier to select and measure adverts. Ad availability depends on consent, distribution, subscription status, and network conditions. The mathematics you type is never part of an advert request, and no problem, answer or history entry is ever sent to an advertising network.
Adverts load only in a copy of Qedra installed from the App Store. A TestFlight build, a build run from Xcode, or any other install never starts the advertising software at all.
Unity’s documented LevelPlay data practices include device identifiers, advertising interaction data, and performance data for third-party advertising. The bundled Ad Quality component also declares device identifiers, performance data, and other diagnostic data for advertising quality analytics and functionality. These services do not receive the expressions, answers, or history stored by Qedra. See Unity’s privacy policy for the provider’s practices and privacy choices.
In version 1.1, Settings → Advertising privacy provides separate choices for advertising data use, personalized ads, and opting out of sale or sharing. Advertising data use and personalization start off; sale or sharing opt-out starts on. Free mathematics remains available if you refuse, choose Not now, or cancel. Only saving your choices applies an advertising-data grant. These choices do not replace the separate iOS tracking permission, and ATT permission alone does not authorize advertising data use.
A saved refusal prevents Qedra from starting its advertising integration. If you withdraw advertising-data permission after previously allowing it, Qedra blocks new ad loads and resumes, removes its banner, applies restrictive LevelPlay privacy signals, and shuts down the bundled Ad Quality component. If you later grant permission again, Qedra restores the current privacy signals before restarting Ad Quality or requesting another advert. Unity handles previously collected data and privacy requests under its own privacy policy.
Your saved advertising choices are kept on your device in a versioned record that Qedra excludes from backup. You can reopen Advertising privacy to change them. A failed save is reported in that screen; it is not presented as a successful update.
Qedra Pro is sold as an auto-renewing subscription, and as a one-time Lifetime purchase, through the App Store. Purchases are processed by Apple; we never see your payment details. Your entitlement is read from the App Store on your device and is tied to your Apple Account, not to any Qedra account. Apple may share aggregate, non-identifying sales information with us.

The mathematics engine and interface are built into Qedra and perform calculations on your device. The third-party advertising integration includes Unity LevelPlay (ironSource) and Ad Quality, described in section 5. Qedra does not integrate a separate general-purpose usage analytics service, and includes no Google advertising SDK or Google mediation adapter. Apple may also receive diagnostics under the device’s own Analytics & Improvements settings.
Qedra requests App Tracking Transparency permission when the operating system allows it. The prompt is not restricted to free-tier users, and granting it does not enable ads for Pro subscribers. You can change the permission in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. In version 1.1, Qedra Settings → App tracking also reaches the iOS prompt when available or the relevant system settings. Qedra does not request access to the camera, microphone, contacts, photos, location, or health data.
Qedra is designed for university-level mathematics and is not directed to children. It is not registered as a child-directed app with any advertising network.
You can delete saved problems in Qedra’s History screen. Device backups, purchase records, and Apple Account data are managed through Apple’s controls. For data processed by Unity’s advertising services, consult Unity’s privacy policy and privacy request options. You may contact us using the address below with questions about Qedra’s data handling. Mathematical problems and history are never included in advertising requests.
If we change how Qedra handles data, we will update this page and the “Last updated” date above. Material changes will also be reflected in the App Store privacy labels for the affected version.
