Qedra solves calculus, algebra and linear algebra problems and writes out the derivation the way a lecturer would: one named rule at a time, with a short explanation of why that step is allowed. It is built on a computer algebra system written from scratch for this app, which means two things you will notice immediately.

Some steps are only valid under a condition. Simplifying √(x²) to x is wrong when x is negative; dividing by a symbol is wrong when that symbol is zero. Most solvers do these silently. Qedra records the assumption and shows it with the answer, so you can check whether it holds for your problem. If you are working over the complex numbers, turn that on in Settings and Qedra will stop making the assumptions that only hold over the reals.
Qedra will tell you it could not finish, and what it tried. This is deliberate. A search that gives up and prints a plausible-looking answer is worse than useless for checking your own work, so when the engine cannot prove a result it says so rather than guessing. The same applies to verification: an answer marked “could not verify” is not necessarily wrong, and Qedra says which of the two it means.
Some notation genuinely changes the answer, so Qedra asks rather than assuming. log(100) is 2 in base 10 and about 4.605 as a natural logarithm. Set your convention under Settings → Notation; it applies to what you solve next, and work already in your history keeps the convention it was solved under.
The free tier gives you unlimited answers, three full worked solutions a day, and your last 100 problems in history. Qedra Pro removes both limits and the advertising: the free tier carries a single banner on the Solve screen, and nothing you type is ever part of an advert request.

No. The solver is built into the app and runs on your device, and there is no Qedra server to send anything to. Your history is stored on the device and is not synced anywhere. Two things do leave the device, and neither carries your mathematics: a purchase, handled entirely by Apple, and — on the free tier only — a request for the banner advert, handled by Unity LevelPlay. Qedra Pro removes the advert.
Answers are free and unlimited, permanently. Three full worked solutions a day are free as well. Pro removes that daily limit.
There is usually more than one correct way to write the same expression. Qedra prefers the form a lecturer would write — coefficients first, then algebra, then named functions — but an answer that looks different is often the same expression rearranged. If you think it is genuinely wrong, please send it to us; a wrong answer is a bug we want.

Statistics, yes: descriptive statistics, the normal, binomial, Poisson, geometric, hypergeometric, Student’s t, χ², F, exponential and uniform distributions, and the combinatorics behind them. Differential equations are not in this version.
