Ride Meter turns your iPhone into a worldwide taxi-fare meter. Using your device’s GPS, it measures your trip’s distance, speed, and waiting time, then computes a running fare from the real, official metered tariff for the region you select — flag-fall, per-distance and per-minute waiting charges, day/night/holiday rates, and known surcharges. It covers 81+ cities and countries across every continent, shows a live meter as you ride, produces an itemised receipt for every trip, keeps a trip history, and lets you see a full, transparent breakdown of each region’s rates — including the source and the year the tariff was last verified. The free version covers your home country and is supported by ads; Ride Meter Pro unlocks every region worldwide and removes all ads.
Ride Meter Pro is an optional auto-renewable subscription that unlocks the full app:
Pro is available Monthly at US$2.99 or Annually at US$19.99 with a 1-week free trial (prices vary by region). Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase, and the subscription renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
Manage or cancel. You can view, change, or cancel your subscription at any time in Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions on your device. Cancelling stops future renewals; you keep Pro until the end of the period you’ve already paid for.
Restore Purchases. If you reinstall the app or set up a new device, tap Restore Purchases in the app to bring back your Pro subscription on the same Apple Account.
Ride Meter gives an estimate built from each region’s official, published metered tariff — flag-fall, per-distance and per-minute waiting rates, time-of-day bands, and known surcharges. It is not a certified taximeter, and the fare a taxi actually charges can differ because of route, rounding, local surcharges, tolls, traffic, or tariff changes. Treat the number as a well-informed guide, not an exact bill. Each region also shows the source and the year its tariff was last verified.
It uses your location to measure how far and how fast you travel and how long you wait, which is what the meter needs to compute the fare. Your location is used on your device for this purpose only — it is not sold or sent to us. See the Privacy Policy for details.
The free version covers your home country’s regions. Subscribe to Ride Meter Pro to unlock all 81+ regions worldwide, remove ads, keep unlimited exportable trip history, and back up to iCloud.
Open Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions on your device, select Ride Meter, and turn off renewal. Subscriptions are managed entirely through your Apple Account; we cannot start, change, or cancel them for you.
