Summary: Ride Meter uses your location on your device to measure your trip and compute an estimated fare. Your location and trips are not sold and not sent to us — we run no servers. Your trips stay on your device and, for Ride Meter Pro subscribers, sync through your own private iCloud account. The free version shows ads from Google AdMob, which collects limited device and ad-interaction data. Upgrading to Ride Meter Pro removes all ads.
Ride Meter is developed by MW Supply Limited (“we”). This policy explains what data the app handles, what stays on your device, and what is processed by the limited third-party services we use to show ads and offer an optional subscription. We have no account system and operate no backend — you can use the app without signing in to us.
Ride Meter is a fare meter, so it needs to know how far and how fast you travel and how long you wait. While a trip is running, the app reads your location from iOS to measure distance, speed, and waiting time, and uses those measurements to compute the estimated fare from the tariff you selected. This all happens on your device. Your location is not sold and is never sent to MW Supply Limited or any advertiser. Location access is requested only for this purpose, and you can change or revoke it at any time in Settings → Ride Meter → Location (the meter cannot measure a trip without it).
Ride Meter stores your trips and their itemised receipts on your device using Apple’s standard on-device database, so the app remembers them between launches. This includes each trip’s region, distance, duration, waiting time, the rates applied, and the calculated fare, together with your app settings (such as your selected region and preferences). This data stays on your device except via the iCloud mechanism described below, and it is removed if you delete the app. We have no access to it.
If you subscribe to Ride Meter Pro, are signed in to iCloud, and have backup enabled, your trips and receipts are mirrored to your personal iCloud account using Apple’s CloudKit private database. This backs up your trip history and keeps it available if you reinstall the app or set up a new device. The data is stored in your own iCloud account — MW Supply Limited has no access to it, and iCloud is governed by Apple’s privacy policy. If you are not a Pro subscriber, not signed in to iCloud, or have backup off, your trips simply stay on the device.
The free version of Ride Meter is supported by ads. It shows banner ads and occasional full-screen (interstitial) ads served by Google AdMob (the Google Mobile Ads SDK). To serve these ads, Google may collect and process information including:
This information is collected and used by Google, not by us. It is handled under Google’s Privacy Policy and as described in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services. MW Supply Limited only receives aggregate, non-identifying reports such as the number of ad impressions and estimated revenue. Your trips and the precise location data used by the meter are never shared with Google or used to target ads.
App Tracking Transparency. iOS asks whether Ride Meter may track you across other companies’ apps and websites. If you choose “Ask App Not to Track,” the advertising identifier is not used and you will see only non-personalized ads.
Consent (EEA, UK & other regions). Where required by law, Ride Meter uses Google’s User Messaging Platform to ask for your consent before personalized ads are shown, and respects your choice.
Removing ads. Subscribing to Ride Meter Pro removes all banner and interstitial ads. While you are a Pro subscriber, the app does not request or display ads.
Ride Meter Pro is an optional auto-renewable subscription (available monthly or annually, with a free trial on the annual plan) that unlocks all 81+ regions worldwide, removes all ads, keeps unlimited exportable trip history, and backs your trips up to iCloud. Purchases, billing, renewals, and refunds are handled entirely by Apple through your App Store account — we never see or store your name, your payment-card details, or your Apple ID. To unlock Pro features, the app checks your purchase entitlement directly with the App Store on your device; this check does not identify you to us. You can view, change, or cancel your subscription at any time in the App Store under Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions.
Apart from the advertising and subscription services described above, Ride Meter makes no network requests of its own and has no servers to talk to. The other network activity is Apple’s own iCloud synchronization, which happens at the operating-system level when a Pro subscriber enables iCloud backup.
Ride Meter Pro lets you export your receipts. Exported files are saved or shared only to the destination you pick through the standard iOS document and share sheets — Files, Mail, AirDrop, and so on. These files are under your control and are never sent to us.
To show ads in the free version, Ride Meter includes two SDKs, both from Google:
Both are governed by Google’s Privacy Policy. Ride Meter contains no analytics frameworks and no crash reporting other than Apple’s first-party crash reporting (which is governed by Apple’s privacy policy and only runs if you opted in to Share With App Developers in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements). Ride Meter Pro subscribers are not shown ads, and the app does not request ads for them.

Ride Meter does not access your microphone, contacts, photos, or health data.
Ride Meter is a general-audience utility and is not directed at children. It does not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because the free version shows ads, we instruct Google to serve only family-appropriate (maximum content rating G) ads, but it is not designed for use by children under the age of digital consent without a parent or guardian. Subscribing to Ride Meter Pro removes all ads.
Your trips and receipts remain on your device until you delete them or delete the app. If iCloud backup is on, a copy stays in your private iCloud account until you remove it or turn backup off. We hold no copy of your data on any server because we run none. The limited ad data described in section 5 is retained by Google under its own policies.
If we change how Ride Meter handles data, we will update this page and the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will also be reflected in the App Store privacy nutrition labels for the affected version of the app.
