GPS Alarm Privacy Policy

Effective 1 June 2026 · Last updated 5 August 2026

Summary: GPS Alarm has no accounts. Your location is used only on your device — to detect when you arrive at or leave the places you choose, and, if you turn on always-on monitoring, to watch your saved places continuously in the background even when no trip is running. Your location is never sent to us, and never shared with advertisers. The free version shows ads, supplied by Unity Ads, which collect some information about your device in order to deliver and measure them (see section 6). GPS Alarm Pro removes all ads.

1. Who we are

GPS Alarm is developed by MW Supply Limited ("we"). We do not operate our own servers and we do not run an account system. We cannot identify you personally.

2. Location data

The core of the app is detecting when you arrive at — or leave — a place you choose. To do this, iOS provides your device's location to the app. During an active trip this happens continuously, including in the background, so the alarm can wake you with the screen locked.

If you turn on always-on monitoring — an optional feature you enable per device in Settings — iOS also lets the app know when you enter or leave any of your saved places even when no trip is running, so it can alert you in the background. This mode is off unless you turn it on, and it needs the "Always" location permission; the free, single-destination arrival alarm does not require it. You can turn it off at any time.

Your location never leaves your device. It is used in real time, on your iPhone or iPad, only to measure the distance to the places you set and to trigger your alerts. We do not collect it, store it on any server, transmit it, or sell it. We have no way to see where you are or where you travel.

This applies to advertising too: the app never passes your GPS location, your saved stops, or your trip history to any advertiser. Our advertising provider does derive an approximate, country-level location from your device's IP address, as described in section 6 — that is a normal property of any internet connection, and is not the precise location the app itself uses.

3. Your saved stops, history & settings

The stops you save, your trip history (a record of the stops you've been woken at), and your preferences (alert style, sound, wake-up zone size, and so on) are stored on your device. If you are signed in to iCloud, your saved stops and trip history are also synced to your own private iCloud database (using Apple's CloudKit) so they stay up to date and backed up across your devices. That data lives in your Apple Account; we have no access to it and never receive a copy.

4. Notifications

The app schedules local notifications on your device to show the wake-up alert. These are created and delivered entirely on your device and are not sent through us or any third party.

5. Subscriptions

GPS Alarm Pro is sold as an auto-renewable subscription processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive or store your payment details. Apple handles billing, renewals, and receipts under Apple's Privacy Policy.

6. Advertising

The free version of GPS Alarm is funded by advertising. Ads are supplied by Unity Ads (Unity Technologies), together with its ad-quality service, which detects invalid and fraudulent ad traffic. Subscribing to GPS Alarm Pro removes all advertising.

To deliver, cap and measure ads, Unity collects certain information from your device. Based on Unity's own publisher disclosures, that is:

Unity uses the device identifier and the country-level location for advertising purposes, including across other apps, which is why iOS asks you whether to allow tracking. If you decline, or never answer, the app requests non-personalised ads and Unity is told not to use your data for behavioural targeting. You can change this at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. The alarm itself behaves identically either way.

We (MW Supply Limited) never receive any of this information. We operate no servers and run no analytics of our own.

7. Information we do not collect

We do not collect your name, email address, contacts, photos, or your location. The app has no account system, and neither we nor our advertising provider ever receive your saved stops or your trip history.

8. Children

GPS Alarm is not directed to children and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. Data retention & security

We hold no personal data on any server we control. App data stays on your device and in your own iCloud, and can be removed at any time by deleting the app. Data collected by our advertising provider is retained under Unity's privacy policy.

10. Changes to this policy

If we change how GPS Alarm handles data, we will update this page and the "Last updated" date above, and reflect material changes in the App Store privacy details for the affected version.
