Summary: Vicira has no account system and we operate no servers that hold your personal data. Your location is used only on your device to tell when you reach a place — it never leaves your device and is never sent to us. Your own reminders sync through your private iCloud. Reminders you share with family are end-to-end encrypted so only your group can read them. The free version shows ads through Google AdMob, which may use a device advertising identifier; Vicira Pro removes ads.
Vicira is developed by MW Supply Limited ("we"). We do not run our own servers for your data and we do not operate an account system, so we cannot identify you personally.
The core of the app is detecting when you arrive at or leave a place you choose. To do this, iOS provides your device's location to the app, including in the background so a reminder can fire when the app is closed.
Your location never leaves your device. It is used in real time, on your iPhone or iPad, only to measure the distance to the places you set and to trigger your reminders. We do not collect it, store it on any server, transmit it, sell it, or share it. We have no way to see where you are or where you travel.
The reminders you create, your history (a record of reminders that have fired), and your preferences are stored on your device. If you are signed in to iCloud, they are also synced to your own private iCloud database (using Apple's CloudKit) so they stay up to date and backed up across your devices. That data lives in your Apple Account; we have no access to it and never receive a copy.
If you choose to create or join a family group, the reminders shared within that group are stored in Vicira's iCloud database (Apple's CloudKit) only so they can be delivered to the other members' devices. Before a shared reminder leaves your device, its contents (the note, place, and who it's for) are encrypted with a key derived from your group's invite code. Only people who have that invite code can decrypt and read the reminder. We do not have the invite code and cannot read your shared reminders. Members of your group can, by design, see the reminders shared in the group; share an invite code only with people you trust.
The free version of Vicira displays ads through Google AdMob. To show ads, AdMob may collect and process limited information such as a device advertising identifier, general (coarse) location inferred from your IP address, and ad-interaction data. This is handled by Google in accordance with its policies; see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services and the Google Privacy Policy.
On iOS, apps must ask permission before tracking you across other companies' apps and websites; you can decline, and you can review or limit ad personalisation under Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking and Apple Advertising. Subscribing to Vicira Pro removes all ads, and with it any ad-related data collection.
Vicira Pro is an auto-renewable subscription sold through Apple. Purchases, billing, and renewals are handled entirely by Apple under your Apple Account; we never see your payment details. The app only learns whether a valid subscription is active.
The app schedules local notifications on your device to show a reminder's note when it fires. These are created and delivered on your device.
We do not collect your name, email, contacts, photos, or location history, and we run no analytics of our own. The name you enter for Family Sharing is stored only on your device and, encrypted, within your group's data. Aside from the advertising described in section 5 (free version only), Vicira contains no third-party trackers.
Vicira is a general-purpose utility suitable for all ages and is not directed at children. It does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Because we hold no personal data on servers we control, there is nothing for us to retain or delete on our side. Your reminders live on your device and in your own iCloud and can be removed at any time by deleting them or deleting the app. Shared reminders are removed from the group's data when you delete them or leave the group.
If we change how Vicira handles data, we will update this page and the "Last updated" date above, and reflect material changes in the App Store privacy details for the affected version.
