Vicira

Location reminders for you and the people you love. Drop a pin, write a note, and Vicira alerts you the moment you get there — with a loud alarm or a gentle notification, your choice. Version 1.0

What it does

Vicira turns a place into a reminder. Pick a spot on the map, write a note ("buy milk", "post the letter", "take your medication"), and choose how you want to be alerted. When you arrive at — or leave — that place, Vicira fires the alert and shows your note. It keeps watch quietly in the background, so you don't have to remember to open anything.

How to use it

• New reminder. Tap Remind me at a place, then search for an address or pan the map so the pin is where you want it.
• Write the note. Add a short title and, if you like, more detail.
• Set the trigger zone. Drag the radius slider (or tap a preset). The alert fires when you cross the edge of this zone — a larger zone alerts you sooner, which helps when you're driving.
• Arrive or leave. Choose whether the reminder fires when you arrive or when you leave.
• Pick your alert. Choose Alarm (a loud, looping sound with vibration that you have to dismiss) or Notification (a gentle banner with a sound), and a tone you like.
• Look back. Open History from the home screen to see every reminder that has fired, with the place and time.

Family Sharing Pro

This is what makes Vicira special. With Family Sharing you can set a reminder for someone else — a partner who forgets the shopping, a parent who needs to take medication, a child arriving at school — and it fires on their phone when they reach the place. They can do the same for you.

• Create a family group and share the invite code with the people you choose.
• When you create a reminder, assign it to anyone in the group.
• Shared reminders are end-to-end encrypted with a key derived from your group's invite code, so only your group can read them — not even we can.

Vicira Pro

Vicira is free to use, with a few location reminders and ads. Vicira Pro unlocks the full experience and starts with a 7-day free trial.

• Unlimited reminders, Family Sharing, no ads, full history, and every alert style and tone.
• $2.99 / month or $19.99 / year (the yearly plan works out cheaper).
• Both plans start with a 7-day free trial — you won't be charged until the trial ends, and you can cancel anytime before then at no cost.
• The subscription renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends. Manage or cancel it anytime in Settings → your name → Subscriptions on your device, or in the app under Settings → Membership → Manage or Cancel Subscription.
• Got a new device or reinstalled? Open Settings → Membership → Restore Purchases to restore your subscription at no charge. It's tied to your Apple Account.
• The Membership page (in Settings) shows your current plan, price, renewal date, and everything Pro includes.

Permissions

Location

Vicira needs your location to know when you reach a place. Please choose Always: this lets reminders fire reliably in the background, even when the app is closed and your phone is in your pocket. If you choose While Using, reminders only fire while the app is open. Your location is used only on your device to trigger your reminders — it is never sent to us or anyone else.

Notifications

Allow notifications so a reminder's note can appear on your lock screen when it fires.

Will the alarm sound if my phone is on silent?

In Alarm mode, the sound plays through the media channel, so it is heard even when the Ring/Silent switch is set to silent — just like a clock alarm. For the loudest, most reliable alert, use Alarm mode, grant Always location, and keep your volume up.

Tips for reliable reminders

• Grant Always location and Notifications.
• Pick a trigger zone that gives enough warning (100–200 m for walking, 300–800 m for driving).
• iOS limits any app to 20 active geofences at once. If you have more than 20 enabled reminders, Vicira automatically watches the 20 nearest to you and updates the set as you travel.

Your reminders, history & iCloud

Your own reminders, your history, and your preferences are stored on your device and, when you're signed in to iCloud, kept in sync across your devices through your own private iCloud — so the same reminders appear on your iPhone and iPad, and restore on a new device. We never see this data; it lives only in your Apple Account.

FAQ

A reminder didn't fire.

Check that location is set to Always (Settings → Vicira → Location) and notifications are allowed. Very small zones (under ~100 m) can be missed at speed, so allow a little room. In While Using mode, reminders only fire while the app is open.

Can I snooze?

Yes. When an alarm fires, tap Snooze to silence it and be reminded again after a few minutes (set the snooze length in Settings).

Does it work on iPad?

Yes — Vicira works on iPhone and iPad.
