Vivace

A high-resolution, lossless music player for audiophiles. Play the files you own — FLAC, ALAC, WAV, AIFF, DSD and more — the way they were meant to sound. For iPhone & iPad.

About

Vivace is a local music player built for people who care about sound quality. It plays your own high-resolution and lossless files with a clean signal path, shows the true source format and bit depth of every track (“FLAC 24-bit/96kHz”, “DSD64”), and organises your collection by album, artist, genre, folder and playlist. No streaming, no accounts — just your library, sounding its best.

Supported formats

Vivace plays FLAC, Apple Lossless (ALAC), WAV, AIFF, CAF, AAC, MP3, Apple M4A and Opus natively, and DSD (.dsf and uncompressed .dff, DSD64) by decoding it to high-rate PCM for playback. DRM-protected tracks (for example Apple Music streams) can’t be opened — you need a file you own.

Getting started

Now Playing

Gapless & last-position memory

Tracks within an album of the same format play back-to-back with no silence. Vivace remembers where you stopped in each track and offers to resume it next time — great for long mixes, live sets and audiobooks.

Equalizer

A 10-band graphic equalizer with a preamp and a set of presets (Rock, Jazz, Classical, Bass Boost, Vocal and more) is included free for everyone.

CUE sheets

Drop a single-file album (one big .flac/.wav plus a .cue) into a folder and import it — Vivace reads the cue sheet and splits it into proper, individually-playable tracks, with the titles and timings from the cue. This is included free.

Lyrics

Vivace shows lyrics embedded in your files, including time-synced lyrics that highlight line-by-line as the song plays. If a track has no embedded lyrics, Vivace Pro can look them up online from LRCLIB, a free community lyrics database. Only the track title, artist, album and duration are sent to look up lyrics — never anything personal.

DSD (Pro)

Vivace Pro plays 1-bit DSD files by decoding them to high-resolution PCM on-device. The Now Playing badge always shows the original DSD rate. For bit-perfect 1-bit output you’ll want an external USB DAC; on-device playback uses the iPhone/iPad audio output.

Vivace Free & Vivace Pro

Vivace is free to use as a full-featured local player: all formats and hi-res PCM, browsing, gapless, the 10-band equalizer, CUE-sheet albums, embedded & synced lyrics, the queue, and background playback. The free version shows occasional ads on the browse screens — never over the music or the player.

Vivace Pro removes all ads and unlocks DSD playback, automatic online lyrics, ReplayGain loudness normalization, every theme and accent colour, and unlimited playlists. Pro is available as a monthly or annual subscription (with a free trial) or a one-time Lifetime purchase. Manage or cancel anytime in your Apple Account; the membership page is in Settings.

FAQ

Does Vivace stream from Spotify or Apple Music?

No. Streaming catalogues are DRM-protected and can’t be opened by third-party players. Vivace plays files you own — purchased downloads, your own rips, DAW exports, and so on.

Why decode DSD to PCM?

iOS has no native 1-bit DSD playback path and the built-in outputs are PCM. Vivace decodes DSD to high-rate PCM so it plays on any output, and always shows you the original DSD rate. A USB DAC is required for true bit-perfect 1-bit output.

Where are my files stored?

Inside Vivace’s private storage on your device. Nothing is uploaded to us. See the Privacy Policy.

It says “DSD requires Pro” / a feature is locked.

DSD playback, automatic online lyrics, ReplayGain, every theme and accent colour, and unlimited playlists are part of Vivace Pro — which also removes ads. The 10-band equalizer, CUE-sheet albums and embedded & synced lyrics are free for everyone.
