Vivace is a local music player built for people who care about sound quality. It plays your own high-resolution and lossless files with a clean signal path, shows the true source format and bit depth of every track (“FLAC 24-bit/96kHz”, “DSD64”), and organises your collection by album, artist, genre, folder and playlist. No streaming subscription or Vivace login is required.
Vivace plays FLAC, Apple Lossless (ALAC), WAV, AIFF, CAF, AAC, MP3, Apple M4A and Opus natively, and DSD (.dsf and uncompressed .dff, DSD64) by decoding it to high-rate PCM for playback. DRM-protected tracks (for example Apple Music streams) can’t be opened — you need a file you own.
Tracks within an album of the same format play back-to-back with no silence. Vivace remembers where you stopped in each track and offers to resume it next time — great for long mixes, live sets and audiobooks.
A 10-band graphic equalizer with a preamp and a set of presets (Rock, Jazz, Classical, Bass Boost, Vocal and more) is included free for everyone.
Drop a single-file album (one big .flac/.wav plus a .cue) into a folder and import it — Vivace reads the cue sheet and splits it into proper, individually-playable tracks, with the titles and timings from the cue. This is included free.
Vivace shows lyrics embedded in your files, including time-synced lyrics that highlight line-by-line as the song plays. If a track has no embedded lyrics, Vivace Pro can look them up online from LRCLIB, a free community lyrics database. The lookup sends the track title, artist, album and duration. LRCLIB also receives normal network connection information; see the Privacy Policy.
Vivace Pro plays 1-bit DSD files by decoding them to high-resolution PCM on-device. The Now Playing badge always shows the original DSD rate. Vivace outputs the decoded PCM to built-in outputs and external DACs. It does not send native 1-bit DSD or DSD over PCM (DoP).
Vivace is free to use as a full-featured local player: supported PCM formats including hi-res audio, browsing, gapless playback, EQ presets and tone controls, CUE-sheet albums, embedded lyrics, the queue, and background playback. The free iPhone and iPad version shows a library banner and occasional full-screen ads when reopening the app. Full-screen ads are blocked during playback and are not placed over Now Playing. The native Mac app has no ads.
Vivace Pro adds DSD playback, online lyrics, ReplayGain, custom and per-output EQ, smart and unlimited playlists, listening stats, premium themes and optional iCloud Backup & Sync. It also removes ads on iPhone and iPad. iCloud Backup uses your own iCloud storage quota. Features shown in the app reflect what is supported on your platform. Choose a monthly or annual subscription, or a one-time Lifetime purchase. Current localized prices and any eligible trial appear before purchase. Manage or cancel a subscription through the membership page in Settings.
No. Streaming catalogues are DRM-protected and can’t be opened by third-party players. Vivace plays files you own — purchased downloads, your own rips, DAW exports, and so on.
Vivace decodes DSD to high-rate PCM on your device so it can play through supported outputs. The source badge still identifies the original DSD file. Connecting a USB DAC does not change this into native DSD or DoP output.
Copied imports live in Vivace’s storage. Linked music stays in the original folder you chose; removing that link from Vivace leaves the originals intact. Optional iCloud Backup copies eligible music to your private iCloud and uses your storage quota. Your music is not uploaded to us. See the Privacy Policy.
DSD playback, automatic online lyrics, ReplayGain, every theme and accent colour, and unlimited playlists are part of Vivace Pro — which also removes ads. EQ presets and tone controls, CUE-sheet albums and embedded & synced lyrics are free. Custom and per-output EQ are part of Pro.
